Eligibility
Management Quota is not a separate route from NEET. Students seeking MBBS admission through Management Quota seats in participating private medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh must qualify NEET-UG and satisfy the applicable academic and admission requirements. Management Quota admissions are conducted through the centralized counselling process, rather than through direct college-level admission. AMRU's prospectus specifically provides for Management Quota seats in private unaided medical colleges and allows both Himachali and non-Himachali Indian candidates to apply, subject to the prescribed eligibility requirements.
NEET-UG Qualification
You must qualify NEET-UG for the relevant admission year. Management Quota does not have a separate MBBS entrance examination. Candidates are considered through the applicable centralized counselling process based on NEET merit.
Class 12 / Equivalent Qualification
You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with the subjects and academic requirements prescribed for MBBS admission.
Required Subjects & Marks
You must have studied the required Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects and satisfy the applicable minimum academic requirements for MBBS admission.
Minimum Age Requirement
Candidates must satisfy the NEET-UG age requirement applicable to the admission year. For the 2027 admission page, the final age requirement should be checked in the official NEET-UG 2027 information bulletin once published.
Himachal Pradesh Domicile / Eligibility
Himachal Pradesh domicile is not required for Management Quota seats in private unaided medical colleges. The AMRU prospectus states that both Himachali and non-Himachali Indian candidates can apply for Management Quota seats through centralized counselling, subject to the prescribed educational, age and other eligibility requirements.
This is different from State Quota eligibility, which has separate Himachal Pradesh eligibility and domicile/schooling conditions.
Himachal Pradesh Counselling Registration
After qualifying NEET-UG, candidates seeking applicable Management Quota seats must complete the official MBBS/BDS counselling registration and choice-filling process conducted through AMRU's centralized counselling system.
The counselling process uses candidate merit and choice preferences for online seat allocation. AMRU's current website lists the MBBS/BDS Counselling 2026-27 prospectus, applications and seat-allocation notices.
Can You Apply for a Management-Quota MBBS Seat?
Process
Management Quota is not a direct admission route. You must qualify NEET-UG and complete the centralized counselling process conducted by Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh. AMRU conducts counselling for Management Quota seats in private unaided medical colleges based on NEET-UG merit and the applicable counselling rules.
