About Quota
Jammu & Kashmir has private/trust medical institutions offering MBBS programmes. NMC's 2025–26 seat matrix lists Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences, Jammu with 150 MBBS seats and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence with 50 MBBS seats.
The final participating colleges and approved MBBS intake for 2027 should be checked against the latest NMC and J&K counselling information.
The applicable private-seat categories and their allocation are determined by the official J&K admission and counselling rules. The number of seats that may be available under any Management/paid category can vary by institution and admission year.

Eligibility
Management Quota is not a separate entrance route from NEET. Candidates seeking MBBS admission through applicable Management Quota seats in Jammu & Kashmir must qualify NEET-UG and satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed for the relevant seat category. For private medical college seats, the admission process and seat allocation are governed by the applicable J&K counselling rules and notifications. JKBOPEE has conducted MBBS counselling for seats in private institutions, including ASCOMS and SMVDIME.
NEET-UG Qualification
You must qualify NEET-UG for the relevant admission year. A separate entrance examination is not required for MBBS admission through the applicable Management Quota seats.
Class 12 / Equivalent Qualification
You must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with the subjects required for MBBS admission.
Required Subjects & Marks
Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English and satisfy the applicable minimum academic requirements for MBBS admission. The exact requirements for 2027 should be checked against the final NEET-UG and J&K counselling notifications.
Minimum Age Requirement
Candidates must satisfy the NEET-UG age requirement applicable to the admission year. For the 2027 admission cycle, the final NTA NEET-UG 2027 bulletin should be checked once published rather than treating a future-year date as officially confirmed.
J&K Domicile / Eligibility
For the regular J&K MBBS counselling process, JKBOPEE has required candidates belonging to the UT of J&K/Ladakh to submit the applicable domicile documentation.
At private institutions such as ASCOMS, different categories can have different eligibility requirements. JKBOPEE's earlier MBBS admission material specifically provided separate categories for Management, Hindu Minority, NRI and other seats, so the 2027 category-specific notification should be followed rather than assuming that all Management Quota seats are open to candidates from every state.
J&K Counselling Registration
After qualifying NEET-UG, candidates must complete the applicable J&K NEET-UG counselling/registration process through JKBOPEE and follow the current notification for registration, document submission, choice filling and seat allotment.
JKBOPEE has conducted online MBBS/BDS counselling rounds covering Government and private institutions, including ASCOMS and SMVDIME.
Can You Apply for a Management-Quota MBBS Seat?
Process
Management Quota is not a direct admission route. Candidates must qualify NEET-UG and complete the applicable J&K NEET-UG counselling process. JKBOPEE conducts the applicable counselling and admission process for participating medical institutions. The exact category, seat matrix, fees and procedure for 2027 will be confirmed in the official notification.
