View CollegesNEET-UG
NEET-UG is the national entrance examination for undergraduate medical admissions, including MBBS. Candidates must meet the applicable eligibility criteria and qualify according to the rules for the admission year.
All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for MBBS seats under the All India Quota, along with seats in specified central institutions and other participating institutions. Seat availability and eligibility depend on the applicable counselling rules.
State-Level Counselling
State counselling authorities manage MBBS admissions for applicable state quota seats and other seats assigned to their counselling process. Domicile rules, reservation policies, eligibility and participating colleges vary by state.
Private & Deemed University Admissions
Eligible candidates may apply to private medical colleges and deemed universities through the counselling authority responsible for the relevant seats. NEET-UG qualification and applicable counselling requirements remain important; fees and seat categories vary by institution.
NRI & Other Eligible Seat Categories
Certain participating institutions offer NRI-category seats subject to applicable rules and eligibility. Candidates may need to provide sponsorship, relationship and other supporting documents where required. Category-specific eligibility and document verification must be checked for the relevant counselling process.
*The admission route depends on the college, seat category, state and applicable counselling rules. NEET-UG qualification alone does not guarantee an MBBS seat. Always verify eligibility, fees, seat availability, required documents and admission dates through the relevant official counselling authority or institution. 2027-specific schedules and rules should be checked when officially released.
Class 12 Qualification
Candidates must have passed or be appearing for Class 12 or an equivalent examination, subject to the applicable admission-year rules.
Required Subjects
Candidates must meet the prescribed subject requirements, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English under the applicable eligibility rules.
NEET-UG Qualification
Candidates must qualify NEET-UG according to the qualifying criteria for the relevant admission year. Qualifying the examination does not guarantee an MBBS seat.
Minimum Marks
The standard qualifying examination criteria generally require 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology for General candidates, and 40% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates. PwBD criteria vary by category.
Age Requirement
Candidates must generally be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the admission year. Verify the official NEET-UG 2027 information bulletin for the applicable rules.
Counselling & Seat Requirements
Candidates must follow the relevant MCC or state counselling process, meet seat-category requirements and complete document verification. Domicile and NRI documentation may apply where relevant.
*Eligibility, marks criteria and counselling requirements should be verified against the official NEET-UG 2027 bulletin and the relevant counselling authority's notifications when published. Final admission depends on merit, seat availability and applicable rules.
Step 1 — Check Eligibility
Review the Class 12 subject requirements, minimum qualifying marks, age criteria and other applicable eligibility conditions for MBBS admission.
Step 2 — Appear for NEET-UG
Register for and appear in the NEET-UG examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Meet the applicable qualifying criteria to participate in MBBS admission processes.
Step 3 — Register for Counselling
Register with the relevant official counselling authority. MCC handles applicable All India Quota and specified institutional counselling, while state authorities manage their respective admission processes.
Step 4 — Choose Colleges & Fill Preferences
Review eligible colleges, available seats, fee structures and applicable seat categories. Fill in your college preferences in accordance with the official counselling schedule and rules.
Step 5 — Seat Allotment & Verification
Check the official allotment result. If allotted a seat, follow the instructions for reporting, document verification, required fee payment and further counselling rounds, where applicable.
Step 6 — Complete College Admission
Report to the allotted medical college within the specified deadline and complete its admission formalities. Admission is subject to eligibility, successful verification and compliance with the applicable rules.
*NEET-UG 2027 dates, counselling schedules and admission instructions should be confirmed through official notifications when released. Qualifying NEET-UG or registering for counselling does not guarantee a seat; allotment depends on merit, preferences, seat availability and applicable rules.
