Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for BITSAT 2026

Nationality:
Indian residents (Indian citizens), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders, and Foreign nationals (admission through International Student Admission scheme based on SAT scores).

Age Limit:
Candidates should have attained minimum 16 years and 6 months of age by 31 July 2026.
For candidates appearing in Class 12 examination in 2026, age should be 16.5 years by 31 July 2026.
No upper age limit specified.
Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates (as per norms).

Educational Qualification:
Must have passed Class 12 / 10+2 / Equivalent examination from recognized board (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, International Boards like IB, Cambridge IGCSE, CAIE, NIOS).
OR appearing in Class 12 Board examination in March/April/May 2026 (results awaited candidates eligible – provisional admission subject to passing with required marks).
Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026 are eligible.
Candidates with improvement/compartment exam in 2025 eligible if appearing again in 2026.

Subject Requirements for B.E. Programs:

  • For Engineering (B.E.) Courses: Physics (compulsory), Chemistry (compulsory), Mathematics (compulsory), English (adequate proficiency required), One Additional Subject (any 5th subject from approved list).

  • For Pharmacy (B.Pharm) Courses: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Biology, English. Candidates with PCM or PCB both eligible for B.Pharm.

  • For B.E. Environmental & Sustainability Engineering: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, English.

Minimum Marks Criteria (Very Important):

  • For BITS Pilani Campus (Rajasthan): Minimum 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) combined. Minimum 60% marks individually in each subject – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. SC/ST candidates: Relaxation of 10% in aggregate (65% aggregate required).

  • For BITS Goa Campus: Minimum 75% aggregate marks in PCM combined. Minimum 60% marks individually in each subject. Relaxation for SC/ST as per BITS norms.

  • For BITS Hyderabad Campus: Minimum 75% aggregate marks in PCM combined. Minimum 60% marks individually in each subject. Relaxation for SC/ST as per BITS norms.

  • For BITS Dubai Campus: Minimum 75% aggregate in PCM. Minimum 60% in each subject individually. Additional eligibility criteria may apply (check BITS Dubai specific requirements).

  • For B.Pharm (Pharmacy) Courses: 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCM or PCB). 60% individually in each subject.

English Language Requirement:
Adequate proficiency in English language is necessary. English must be studied as compulsory subject in Class 11 & 12.

Number of Attempts:
No limit on number of attempts to appear in BITSAT.
Candidates can appear in both Session 1 and Session 2 in same year (BITSAT 2026).
Best score among all attempts (Session 1 or Session 2) considered for admission.
Candidates who appeared in BITSAT 2025 can reappear in BITSAT 2026.

Direct Admission / Board Topper Scheme:
Rank 1 holders (State Board/CBSE/ICSE toppers) eligible for direct admission without BITSAT exam.
